Telecom Bill 2023 will allow Centre to take over, suspend services over ‘national security’ | WION

In the interest of maintaining national security, the government may take control of, manage, or halt any or all telecommunications services or networks, according to the draft Telecommunications Bill, 2023, which was presented to the Lok Sabha on Monday. The 138-year-old Indian Telegraph Act, which now regulates the telecom industry, is intended to be replaced by the Telecommunications Bill, 2023.
