After Dubai, Torrential Rainfall Batters Saudi Arabia | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Floods and heavy rain hit parts of Saudi Arabia on Monday, including the provinces of Al-Ula and Al-Madinah. Heavy rain and floods have forced road closures and schools to cancel in-person attendance in several parts of the Kingdom amid travel warnings issued by the Gulf nation’s meteorological authorities. The National Meteorological Centre issued red alerts for Qassim and other areas, the capital Riyadh and Medina province bordering the Red Sea. This comes after flash floods in parts of the Gulf last month. What explains this freak weather? Why are these countries so unprepared for this? Palki Sharma tells you.
