More Chinese Aggression: Philippine Ships Attacked with Water Cannons | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Chinese ships have attacked Philippine vessels again. On Monday, Chinese coast guard ships fired water cannons at Philippine ships on a resupply mission in the disputed Scarborough Shoal region of the West Philippine Sea. China seized the Scarborough Shoal from the Philippines in 2012, and has been attacking Philippine vessels in the region ever since. China claims the disputed area using its infamous 9-dash line map. International courts have ruled that China's claims have no legal basis, but Beijing still has not rescinded its bogus claims. China has doubled down, and it has installed a floating barrier around the Scarborough Shoal. The Philippines had removed one of these barriers last year, and are likely to remove the new one as well.
